Athens' very own Classic City Rollergirls are currently recruiting new skaters. The girls are getting geared up for the upcoming 2009 season and want to see if you've got what it takes to be a rollergirl! During the camp sessions, new skaters will learn derby basics including skating skills, derby play, and equipment needs. They will also have an opportunity to learn more about the league. No experience is necessary to attend the boot camp but skating skills are a plus.

The Classic City Rollergirls boot camp sessions will take place on Nov. 17, Dec. 8 and Jan. 12. Try-outs will be held on Jan. 24. All sessions are from 7 to 9 pm at Skate-a-Round USA, 3030 Cherokee Road in Athens. There will be a fee of $20 for the entire set of sessions that will cover rental skates, use of loaner gear, and entrance fees.
